Manager and leader in particular have different kind of power to control their follower. But when leaders do not have the correct way to use their power, it will not have the best result. Therefore, it is necessary for any leader to understand different kind of influence tactic and when to use them. Influence is the ability to bring about change in others’ behavior, beliefs, attitudes, goals, needs, and values. There are ten different influence tactics that the leader can use depend on the situation. It can varies from soft method, rational persuasion, inspirational appeals, consultation, ingratiation, personal appeal to hard method, exchange, coalition tactic, pressure tactic, legitimate tactic and upward appeal.
